1. Important Notice for Lightning E-bikes Customers

Lightning E-bikes provides high-performance electric mobility solutions to the Australian market. However, electric bike (e-bike) laws are highly localized and subject to frequent change. By purchasing from Lightning E-bikes, you acknowledge that it is your sole responsibility to research, understand, and comply with the specific laws of your country, state, or territory.

2. Australian Regulations (Crucial Update)

In Australia, national standards (EN 15194) and state-specific laws strictly regulate e-bike use on public infrastructure.

• Power & Speed: Most states limit road-legal e-bikes to a 250W continuous motor output with power assistance cutting out at 25 km/h.
• Pedal Assistance: The bike must be primarily propelled by pedalling. Throttles that operate without pedalling above 6 km/h are often prohibited on public roads.
• Enforcement: Authorities (particularly in NSW and QLD) have increased enforcement, including on-the-spot power testing and heavy fines for non-compliant vehicles.
• Lightning E-bikes Recommendation: We strongly advise checking your local Department of Transport or state police guidelines before riding your Lightning E-Bikes product in public spaces.

3. Intended Use of Our Kits

Lightning E-bikes conversion kits exceed the 250W national road-legal power limit for e-bikes in Australia. As sold, our kits are not compliant for use on public roads, footpaths, or shared paths in any Australian state or territory. They are intended for use on private property and off-road terrain only. Do not ride a Lightning E-bikes-converted bicycle on public roads or paths unless you have independently modified it to meet your state's road-legal requirements (250W continuous output, 25 km/h pedal-assist cutoff, and any other applicable standards).

4. Assumption of Risk & Liability

The use of any Lightning E-bikes product involves inherent risks, including the potential for serious injury. By purchasing, you agree that:

• You are solely responsible for where and how you use the product, and for confirming compliance with your local laws before any public-road or public-path use.
• Lightning E-bikes is not liable for any legal penalties, fines, or impoundments resulting from use of our products in violation of local laws.
• You will wear all necessary safety equipment, including a certified helmet.
• You will not modify the motor or speed controller in a way that violates your local regulations.

E-Bike Conversion Kit Warranty Policy

Warranty Coverage: Lightning E-Bikes provides a limited warranty for all e-bike conversion kits sold, covering defects in material.

Warranty Period

• Motor: 12 months from the date of purchase
• Battery: 12 months from the date of purchase
• Controller: 12 months from the date of purchase
• Charge: 12 months from the date of purchase

What Is Covered

• Manufacturing defects in materials
• Failure of components under normal and proper usage

What Is Not Covered

• Damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, improper installation, or unauthorized modifications
• Normal wear and tear (including tires, brake pads, chains, and cosmetic damages)
• Water damage unless the component is specified as waterproof
• Use in competitive racing, stunt riding, commercial use (rental fleets), or any extreme activities
• Damage from improper storage, such as exposure to moisture, corrosive substances, or extreme temperatures

Warranty Claims

To submit a warranty claim, please provide:

• Proof of purchase (invoice or receipt)
• Serial number (if applicable)
• Photos or videos clearly showing the issue
• A description of the problem

Warranty claims must be sent to sales agent. Important: Do not return any products without prior authorisation.

Remedy

At Lightning E-Bikes' discretion, defective parts will be:

• Repaired
• Replaced with new or refurbished parts

The warranty period for repaired or replaced parts remains based on the original purchase date.

Service and Repair Centers

For warranty service and out-of-warranty repairs, contact us directly to arrange an inspection or repair. Proof of purchase and a description of the issue are required.

Important: If a fault or damage is found to be caused by customer misuse, accidents, improper installation, unauthorized modifications, or other customer-induced reasons, all related repair or replacement costs will be the customer's responsibility.

Shipping Costs for Repairs

• The customer is responsible for all shipping costs when sending products to the authorised service and repair centers.
• After the repair or replacement is completed under warranty, Lightning E-Bikes will cover the shipping cost to return the repaired or replaced item to the customer.

Please ensure that all items are securely packaged when shipping to avoid further damage during transit. Lightning E-Bikes is not responsible for any loss or damage during customer-arranged shipping.

Limitation of Liability

Lightning E-Bikes shall not be held liable for any incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the product, including but not limited to loss of profits or business interruption.

Additional Notes

• Warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.
• Modifications to the kit void the warranty unless authorised in writing.

By purchasing Lightning E-Bikes products, the customer agrees to the terms and conditions outlined in this warranty policy.

The kit is purchased in your name so that you have the rights for warranty and direct returns to the company.
